Cricket betting on Housebets

Cricket settlement on Housebets uses the official match result, including a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern result when that is the official method. Weather is not the same as an abandonment before a ball is bowled. Player and total markets also have minimum-overs tests. If those overs are not bowled, the bet can be void even though a winner was named.

The numbers below are the ones in the cricket chapter of the sportsbook rules. In-play timing is covered on live betting.

Formats and thresholds

Limited-overs totals (runs, fours, sixes, extras, wickets, run outs, wides, ducks) need 80% of scheduled overs in each innings. Match top batter and top bowler need 40% of that team's innings. In-play batsman and bowler markets need the chance to face 80% of the overs allocated when the bet was taken.

A forfeit that names a winner still voids match-winner bets. Abandonment for interference, not weather, before a ball is bowled voids every market. A postponement that is not completed within 48 hours voids markets that have no natural conclusion. Resume inside 48 hours and bets stand.

Examples

Fifty-over match cut by rain and finished under DLS. The match result follows the official DLS winner.

You bet a batsman's runs in play when the innings is already deep, and the team then only has the chance to face 70% of the overs that were left in the allocation at acceptance. The market fails the 80% test and is void unless a natural conclusion already locked the result.

Super over decides a tied T20. The match-winner bet follows that super over. A total-runs bet ignores the super-over runs.

First-class match drawn after 180 overs. Fours and sixes markets are void because the 200-over floor was not met.

Cricket FAQ

Does a super over count toward the match total?

Not unless the market says so, for example Super Over Winner. Runs in the super over stay out of match totals, innings totals and player props.

The match is a tie and a super over names a winner. Who wins a two-way bet?

The super-over winner, if the market is the match result. If official rules name no winner, the affected markets are void.

On a three-way market a tie is a dead heat between the teams, not a draw. In a first-class match a tie is a dead heat and a bet on the draw loses.

How many overs are needed for a runs total?

In limited-overs cricket, at least 80% of the scheduled overs in each innings, unless the market already has a natural conclusion such as all out or target reached.

What about an in-play batsman bet?

The team must have had the chance to face at least 80% of the overs allocated at the moment the bet was accepted.

Top batter and top bowler markets use 40% of that team's scheduled overs.

A Test is drawn after 150 overs. Do fours and sixes count?

Statistical markets in a drawn first-class match are void if fewer than 200 overs were bowled.

Innings totals need 60 overs unless the side is all out or declares.
