Golf betting on Housebets

A golfer has played once they tee off. Miss the tee and bets on that player are void. Tee off and then withdraw, retire or get disqualified, and settled player markets lose. The winner of an outright is the player given the trophy, including a playoff.

Results come from the tour site at trophy time, such as the PGA Tour or the European Tour. A disqualification published after the trophy is not used. The chapter is in the sportsbook rules.

Outrights, matchups and places

Tournament winner includes the playoff. Place markets (top 5, top 10, top 20) use dead heat only for the players who tie into extra places. If the event is abandoned before it is complete, those place bets are void.

2-ball, 3-ball and 4-ball are lowest score in the named round. An abandoned round voids that round's matchup.

A delay for rain or darkness leaves unsettled bets open. They stay on if the round or tournament is completed inside the official structure.

Examples

Player named in an outright does not tee off. Void.

Same player tees off, then walks off injured. The outright is a loss when that market is settled.

Sudden-death playoff. The bet wins only if that player receives the trophy, not if they merely led after 72 holes.

Event cut to three rounds because of weather, organiser names a winner. Outrights placed before the final completed round settle on that winner.

Golf FAQ

The player withdraws on the 7th hole. Does the outright lose?

If they had already teed off, player-market bets settle as losses once the market is settled.

If they never teed off, those bets are void.

Does a playoff count for the tournament winner?

Yes. The player who is handed the trophy is the winner, including an official playoff.

Rain shortens the event to 54 holes and a winner is named. Do outrights stand?

Yes, if the organiser declares an official winner. Outrights placed before the last completed round settle on that trophy.

If the tournament is abandoned with no official winner, markets without a natural conclusion are void, and bets placed after the last completed round are void.

Both players in a 2-ball shoot the same score. What happens?

The 2-ball is void unless the market offered a tie. If both retire on the same hole, the market is void.

A 3-ball tie for the low score uses dead-heat rules.

A wrong score is on the board and the market stays open. Can bets be voided?

Yes, if the bad score had a real effect on the odds. The same applies if the players on the market are listed wrong.
